==General==
- Good business is about giving and taking. Don't be just a taker here. Be willing to share useful info you may have, your failures or successes with running a biz in Japan. Even if you are just starting out or still just dreaming about a business, please at least post in the self-introduction forum about your ideas and goals.
- Good manners are what gets you help and keeps you in good with others. Let's try to be polite here. Note: we want this to be a positive help forum.

==Registration==

- When you go to a real business meeting or join a business organisation, you usually introduce yourself to people giving your real name and company info. This forum is like a business meeting. Only one ID per person allowed. It must have your first and last name in it. No anonymous postings, and no registering under multiple identities is permitted. To do so will be cause for removal from the forum.

==Profile==

- On your profile page please enter your name/company/area where you live/website, etc., so anyone here would know who they are talking to.
- If you do not have a job or are thinking of starting a biz, please write whatever describes you best in your occupation section: "working at several companies", "considering options", "inbetweeen jobs", "freelancer", etc.
- For geographic locations please provide your prefecture/city/town name along with your country.

==Posting==

- No multiple postings of the same message into various forums are permitted.
- You may want to develop a “profile” signature that lists your name, business name and contact information at the end of your messages.
- Please keep your postings related to running a business in Japan by international people.
- Please make message titles very specific, to help all of us save time.
- Please send a summary thank you note for the help with your question when you want to end the thread, instead of thanking each individual writer on the forum.
- No contacting members here using private messaging system upon joining as many don't want to be disturbed. If you want to find business partners, let people know in self-introduction section, and wait until you get contacted.- Please follow rules for posting messages by listing them with the following subject headings:

* [JOB] Job wanted/job offered
* [ANNOUNCE] Announcements (from any member)
* [COMPILE] Compilation of answers to a member
* [DISCUSSION] Start a discussion about any topic
* [AREA] For event announcements in a specific region, with date in your subject line, examples:

==Replying==

- Off-topic criticism is really discouraged. If you can't criticise constructively, stay away from any criticising.
- If you want to start a discussion about a question someone posted in a
thread, please start another thread with "Discussion: .........." in the thread title, to help us all with time management.
- Please stay on topic when replying to thread questions, or take your
discussions to "General Chit-Chat" or off the forum.
- Please remove non-relevant portions of the message that you are replying to. Don't quote entire messages in your postings, only relevant lines.

==Moderators==

- Moderators will be assigned to the forum and they have the power to edit or delete posts and lock, unlock, move, delete and split topics in the forum they moderate. Generally moderators are there to prevent people going off-topic or posting abusive or offensive material.

==Cause for Removal==

- If you are found to be posting under an alias or multiple IDs or posting anonymously, your ID will be removed from this forum.
- If you are found to be consistently nasty and mean-spirited to others on the forum despite repeated warnings, you may be removed from the forum.
- If you do not provide a valid email address on your profile page, you will be removed from the forum. To make your email address invisible to people other than forum admin, please check the special box provided for it. Your address is needed in case admin/moderators need to contact you.
- If you do not provide your real name, occupation and geographic location on your profile page upon the first registration, your registration will be removed. If you can not log in again, please register with your real details and then you can participate.
